Let’s not confuse dark circles with wrinkles. The under-eye area is the thinnest and the most
delicate layer of skin.
“Inadequate nutrition, low haemoglobin, stress or exhaustion could cause dark circles,” explains Wadhwani. This along with excessive rubbing and habits like smoking could cause a blood spill in the capillaries, lead- ing to dark circles.
Start by wearing sunscreen and don’t forget your sunglasses each time you step outside, advises Taneja. To conceal dark cir- cles, use an orange or a yellow colour corrector followed by blending a concealer closer to the tone of your skin, recommends Goel.
Wrinkles, on the other hand, occur as we grow older. To reduce these, opt for under-eye creams with retinol boosters and hyaluronic acid. In order to reduce their visibility, prep your eyes with a primer prior to your make-up.
Use minimum concealer and foundation to avoid it creasing, advises Goel. Older women should opt for water-based concealers for finer coverage.
